Types of solar inventers

The UAE company SolarBand wants to present three main types of solar inventers: string inverters, micro-inverters, and power optimizers.

• String inventers

String inventers refers to a standard inverter type that is relatively cheap. It performs well if there are no intrude shades or obstructions from, for instance, trees. It is also important so all solar panels are oriented in the same direction.

• Micro-inverters

Micro-inverters are small units that are built into each individual solar panel. And that is great since they can operate separately independently from each other. Moreover, you can monitor system efficiency and solve any issues with the panels fast by investigating the system’s productivity. The cost of such inventers are a little bit higher than of string ones, however, if you need additional power, you can just add another panel with a micro-inverter.

• Power optimizers

Power optimizers stand in between string inverters and micro-inverters in terms of operation and cost. The same as with micro-inverters, they are situated underneath and within each solar panel. However, this type of inverter, firstly, improves the current and then sends it to the central inverter unit. In this way, it is more productive than string one.
